While addressing the meeting of Uttarakhand State Ganga River Conservation Authority as a president, Chief Minister Harish Rawat said no sewer water to be released in Ganga directly. All the drainage to be released in Ganga after treatment as well as a working plan to be prepared so that these drains to be released out of city through canal based pipelines. Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary a proposal to be prepare for water bonus at earliest along with a water policy to be prepared of state. Chief Minister said plans to be initiated effectively at central level for approval which have been forwarded to Government of India under the Namami Gange. He said that proposal of plans to be drafted considering the local needs. Chief Minister said special drainage plan to be prepared for Rishikesh and Haridwar considering the coming Ardhkumbh Fair. Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to approve Rs 4 crore for the Trivenighat sewerage plan. Whatever fund is required for the Ardhkumbh fair in Haridwar , concerned proposal to be sent. Chief Minister directed to prepare proposal according to standards of Namami Gange and Swachch Bharat of Government of India on priority basis. DPR of River Front Development Plan in Rishikesh to be prepared again and coordination with irrigation department to be insured . Chief Minister said other options to be considered to reduce the water pollution as for the purpose bio-remedies technique can be implemented as a model. Under this technique water of drains and big sewer is purified with natural method. Chief minister expressed displeasure on the issue of DPR as fund had been granted to prepare the DPR to Drinking Water(Payjal), Tourism Development Board and Urban Development Departments but DPR has not been prepared till date. He said this kind of working culture is not right.
Chief Minister instructed the Managing Director of SIDCUL to conduct the cleaning campaign in Kashipur , Haridwar including other SIDCUL regions, for this purpose plans to be prepared by co-coordinating with entrepreneurs of SIDCUL region, instructions have been issued to USGRA to disseminate about the water storage, for the purpose different competitive contest may be organized among the children
Urban Development Minister Pritam Singh Pawar, Chief Secretary N Ravishanker, Additional Chief Secretary S Raju, Principal Secretary Forest Dr. Ranveer Singh, Secretary Tourism Dr. Umakant Panwar, MD SIDCUL R. Rajesh Kumar, Additional Secretary Drinking Water Saujanya were present on the occasion.
